February is for promoting Healthy pet teeth month
So my Vet tells me that February is for promoting Healthy pet teeth month. So thought we would write a little blog about it.
Keeping your Dogs mouth healthy and in good shape will help with more than just having minty fresh breath. With cleaning and brushing your furry little friends teeth can help those live longer and healthier lives.
When you’re canine has bad breath it can be a sign of dental disease, unfortunately, this can also lead to other health problems down the line. Like people your pet needs routine dental care along with their regular health checkups.
Some dogs and cats develop dental disease by 3 years of age. And the faster the disease is treated, the easier it is to manage.
Some warning signs to look for:
• Bad breath
• Sensitivity around the mouth
• Loss of appetite
• Yellow or brown deposits on the teeth
• Bleeding, inflamed, or receding gums
• Loose or missing teeth
• Pawing at the mouth or face
• Difficulty chewing
Veterinary check-ups include monitoring your pet's dental health, but if you see any of these signs between visits, Give your vet a call.
